Another trail led me to this small hole in the ground.
It was a Japanese WWII exit tunnel which originates from this oceanside cave...
...on this beautiful remote beach.
More trails lead to other small beaches, WWII building foundations, and spectacular views.
Latte Stones from 1,000 years ago.
Large Japanese gun bunker.

Thanks for all the great photos!
Your welcome and thanks for visiting.
I just wondered if you had any effects from the tsunami. We never heard anything about the Marianas which are awfully close to the action. Also, do you know a place my Dad called "Old Man by the Sea"? I remember a long hike, plenty of machete clearing along the way, and a huge lava wind carved "head" over a beautiful lagoon where we found many shells. Thanks, Floy
Hi Floy Height,
Saipan was missed by the tsunami again. Saipan is very lucky that way. If you would like to see 'Old Man By The Sea' click on its link below.
Thanks
IF I LIVED THEIR I WOULD BE OUT EXPLORING ALL THE TIME . IT'S HARD TO THINK OF ALL THE VIOLENCE THAT HAS HAPPENED IN SUCH BEAUTIFUL AND MAGICAL PLACE .
How does one find the hidden grotto where you took the video?
Hi Curtfam. The way I found it was by 10 years of searching and hundreds of miles of hiking.
This is a greatt post
